'What about the voice of Geddy Lee?' mused Steven Malkmus in a typically surreal stream of consciousness murmur on Pavement's 1997 single 'Stereo.' 'How did it get so high? I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?'
A decade on from such ponderings (but a full thirty three years since the Canadian trio themselves started releasing records) and Lee's shrill wail very much intact, as are Rush's patented chunky riffs, succulent harmonies and varnished power-pop gloss.
Business as usual, then. But just how does Geddy reach those notes...?
