Lavender Diamond's mantra is "about believing in the practical powers of love", and this track embodies that philosophy in fitting fashion.
Effectively the imagination of Becky Stark brought to life with a couple of other helpers, it really is a song that gets you in the mood for a long summer, full of romance (we say, crossing our fingers) and lazy evenings around the barbeque. Her lovingly concocted nuggets of pop-perfection have caught the eye of other sunset dwelling troubadours such as Devendra Banhart, and believe me, she more than deserves to mingle with such esteemed company.
Maybe it's because it's a sunny day, or maybe its because United have just gone five points clear, but right now this record couldn't be any more perfect. This years 'Young Folks'? Quite possibly. But if that isn't enough, the b-sides include a frankly gorgeous cover of Abba's 'Chiquitita'.
Does life get any better than this?
