The Blood Arm - Angela (City Rockers)
2/5
By: Jacob Dunkley
You may have absolutely no idea who The Blood Arm might be, but chances are that you've heard their previous single 'Suspicious Character', which boldly stated that The Blood Arm like all the girls, and in return, all the girls like The Blood Arm.
It must be hard trying to follow up a really catchy single that everyone knows the words to (well, not literally everyone, just as not literally all the girls like the Blood Arm, but figuratively speaking), but The Blood Arm's new single 'Angela', fortunately or unfortunately depending on what you thought of their last effort, doesn't even really try to repeat that feat - and in fact sounds like a track The Killers may have rejected for their new record. It also hints towards some of the duller Hot Hot Heat tracks... and you begin to see where we're going with all this.
'Angela' isn't a particularly bad single, but as is so often the case, it just isn't particularly good either. It appears there might not be many tricks up Blood Arm's sleeve. The piano led track plods along before going into a distinctly average chorus, that will never excite, never grab, and in a few months time, you'll probably have forgotten it.
