Importunate, familiar indie distortion combined with unchallenging vocals, 'It's Getting Boring by the Sea' is a pacey tale of Brighton life which sounds like a musical representation of a wild group of degenerates trying to escape a gas chamber - panicky, demented, but ultimately very fun to listen to.
Dynamic two-piece Laura-Marie and Stevie have made an angsty composition which stands strong, full and concise. The harrowing vocals, haunted by an unavoidably Brighton-born enunciation are coupled with tense driven percussion to produce a challenging, overwrought resonance.
Passion-fuelled, Blood Red Shoes f**k your ears like a drunken one night stand. However, it won't be long before you and their music will be more long term bed fellows.
