Six By Seven - 'The Way I Feel Today' (Mantra)
3/5
By: Matt Tomiak

Quite simply, Nottingham four-piece Six by Seven's potential target-audience is massive. Those who like their existential anger and inherited self-loathing, coupled with tunes that stay in your head, might well find their new heroes here.
Eleven harrowing tales of mental-anguish, paranoia and unrequited love are on offer in their latest full-length effort, and whilst perhaps this may be too heavy going for some tastes, there's no doubting the genuine emotion on display.
Impassioned recent single 'I.O.U. Love' echoes Mansun's darker moments, whilst the discrepancy between the subdued, melancholic 'All My New Best Friends' and the two following tracks, 'Flypaper For Freaks' and 'Speed Is In, Speed Is Out' - reminiscent of The Hives at their most incendiary - is startling.
'The Way I Feel Today' is by no means an easy-listening experience. But, if it's pure, unadulterated heartfelt feeling you're after, then glance no further.
