By rights Los Campesinos! should be the sort of band I hate. Obnoxious teenagers with inflated ego's - essentially the musical embodiment of the Skins cast. However, thankfully they know their way around a tune.
The single itself, and this again should be a cause for concern; is one of the new fangled 'concept' varieties (which roughly translates as being cobbled together from numerous tracks due to an inability to choose between them). As I say, you'd be forgiven for fearing the worst, but they somehow manage to pull off a brilliant little medley of styles and tempos.
It's a bit rough around the edges, but still, it belies comprehension how ones so young are making music this complex and yet still managing to make it very listenable indeed. They won't be underground for too long at this rate.
