Hard-Fi - Can’t Get Along (Without You) (Necessary)

It's with an un-heavy heart that we announce Hard-Fi have returned with something so unavoidably danceable it actually deserves proper credit. And whilst we're not kidding ourselves - it's still a merry-go-round pop song that's as much OTT as it is irksomely bright to hear, sounding more like the Kaiser Chiefs at their poppiest than the edgier urban tales on Stars of CCTV - darn it if it isn't a completely guilty pleasure we'll allow ourselves to indulge in.
If you're going to allow time for an indie pop song this week, you could do worse than have it be this one. It possesses a winter blues-killing anthemia so rewarding that you can just about paper over the fact that the vocal bridge is completely laughable. If I let down my guard a bit, it might even make it on the iPod in the run up to Christmas and stay there until replaced with all those 'Very Best Of' compilations one's Nan will undoubtedly provide.
