Hadouken! - Leap of Faith (Atlantic)

I may be getting jaded; cynical in my advancing years. Call me a fuddy duddy (or whatever term the kids use these days), but I have recently been feeling the pangs of disillusionment that come when you haven't heard a genuinely exciting new band in a while. All of this day-glo crap that only Vince Noir types actually like (and he is, to my mind at least, a parody of what I can only describe as a numb-nut), does nothing for me.
If you are expecting me to say that Hadouken! (exclamation mark duly noted - say no more) are an exception to the groundswell of fly by night intelligence insulting crap emanating particularly from the trendier districts of the capital, then I am afraid you are wrong. Well, sort of. Because whilst Hadouken! arguably fall into said generalisation, they at least are somewhat exciting while they last. Their presence may be fleeting, but while they continue to produce music brimming with urgency like this, they will remain a vice that I am more than happy to entertain (at least in the short-term).
