Good Shoes - Small Town Girl (Brille)

5/5

By: Alex Pyper

Good Shoes - Small Town Girl"Everything's ok! Everything's alright!" With infectious positivity like that, one can't help but love Good Shoes.

Now enjoying a full release, 'Small Town Girl' combines youthful exuberance and jubilant impressions of the world, with tight fitting fifties high-school-dance rhythm. There is a feeling of integration to this song, of a band where the members are truly working in harmony towards the achievement of flawless indie-pop. The confidently measured bright guitars, and cheeky pauses make you want to clap along to the perfectly crafted summery tune. Indeed, the shine on this upbeat song lends it the quality of a soundtrack to many a holiday.

If there were a theme to which happy associations were to be made, this would be it. Good Shoes should be smiling: this is a polished and charming showcase of talent from a band that could well be England's answer to the Strokes.
