Tin Man - Tonight (NrOne)
2/5
By: Chris O'Toole
Competent and well informed rock music from Norwich; Tin Man write rock songs about girls with charming sing-along choruses. While you can imagine the group developing a local following - perhaps with one of their more dedicated fans getting a tattoo of the lead singers name - the group is never going to headline anywhere outside of their hometown.
Backed with 'Illusion' and 'Blood on the Tracks', the trio does show a group making music for the right reasons. There is a spark and playful nature here, unfortunately just not much creatively or imagination. The fuzz guitar on 'Illusion' adds an additional dynamic, but the trite and overused lyrics prove too much of a distraction to make the piece really enjoyable. Similarly 'Blood on the Tracks' again seeks empathy for the heartbroken, but without any real hope of success.
Perhaps book this band for a party and sing along in a drunken revere, but forget when the morning arrives.
