Haven't we heard stuff like this before; melodic introspective indie with themes of love and loneliness? Frightened Rabbit however stand out a good way from the usual crop of British indie bands that find their way onto our radio stations, and this single proves it.

Scott Hutchinson's vocals provide powerful poetic lyrics about lost love, and he delivers them with the perfect balance of emotion; not too extravagant to invoke sweet sickness, and not too bland so as to fall flat. The drums have a mildly jagged rhythm to them, while the cymbals add subtle dynamic texture to the song, and as the tune progresses the beat welcoming increases with intensity. The guitars rhythm follows closely to the line of the drum beat while ringing out with a temperate echolike sound.

Although 'Fast Blood' is a fairly sparse and simple track, Frightened Rabbit need few colours to highlight the solidity of their song writing ability, and the strength of this track is in the potency of the emotion, that runs along over the delicate subtleties.
