The Young Ones series will always retain its legendary status. It seemed to get everything spot on in all areas; humour, intelligence, social observations... and music. With bands like Dexy's Midnight Runners, Madness and Motorhead all featuring on the show, viewers were pretty much spoilt. To say a song would be deserving of a place in an episode of The Young Ones is a huge compliment, but one I feel is justified with 'Let's Wrestle'.

Its ramshackle DIY style is made from a simple twelve bar blues progression, provided by some scuzzy guitar and elementary piano sounds. Over this a bunch of guys, who I could perfectly imagine walking into a Young Ones episode, tunefully shout about the joys of wrestling, name dropping stars like Mick Mcmanus and Giant Haystacks in between yelling "Let's wrestle, let's f**king wrestle!"

The track is so devoid of pretension that if you put Prince Philip and Shaun Ryder in the same room, I'd like to think that for two minutes and forty seconds they would get on like lifelong buddies.

'I'm In Fighting Mode' holds the same schoolboy charm andwarming melody, but in a more subdued setting, being a worthy double A side contender.

I'd say some of my closest friends are the ones I can happily wrestle and fight with but not feel like I've crossed the line in any way. If you think that this means I'm an uncouth common brute, then maybe this track isn't for you, but anyone who likes to jump from the settee and land elbow to chest on their unsuspecting mate...they're gonna love this.
