BUY DOWNLOAD'Batcat' is a hypnotic whirlwind. It scoops you up in an almighty gust of a driving guitar storm, and like Dorothy being whisked away to a far off land; we are lifted to new heights. Glasgow never seemed like the place wizards would hang out. My preconceptions were wrong.
With this, Mogwai have reached new levels of prog; the visceral energy of 'Batcat' flies to higher realms of intimate thrash. Up in the cumulonimbus mess of an electric static-brain-melt, they give us a ride to remember; through churning clouds of thunderous drums and vast hailstones of cymbal crashes.
