As the manacled younger brother of Titus Anronicus' eponymously named previous single, new release 'My Time Outside the Womb' spews up more of the same guttural shrapnel wound wails and break-neck jangled indie, but this time with the shackles firmly bolted.

Just as the band's name provides a perfect precis to the thoughtful rumblings turning underneath the anthemic rythym and dole office production, here the band's screaming vocals resembling Conor Oberst with a blowtorch to the soles of feet mask a probing rationalization of the rigours of life seen through formative eyes.

Gone is the marauding leviathan pop chorus of the last EP, yet the reputation for frantic pace and energy Titus have gained in their live shows remains, with front man Patrick Stickle breathlessly delivering his delicate narratives over seemingly ill-fitting scuzzy arrangements.

This single holds a mirror unflinchingly up in front of the band, but two images appear; searching lyrics over spitting punk, and an acceptance of the world's seemingly unrelenting gloom river-danced alongside with a whisky in hand.
