The Blood Arm - London The End - 21/2/05
3/5
By: James Williams
Although The End tonight is ram-jam to say the least, LA's The Blood Arm seem be all over the shop, the singer even popping up behind us and tapping me on the shoulder (quite rudely, may I add) while screaming in my face as I was trying to converse with an acquaintance... Whatever happened to privacy/traditional values/woodbines, etc.?
Anywhoo, welcome to The Blood Arm. With demo 'Bomb Romantics' coming out soon, this is their first trip to these isles, on a wave of hype somewhat fuelled from a thumbs-up from those fey Franz Ferdinanders, and for once you can say the hype is truly warranted. True showmanship and storytelling interspersed with loveable indie-rock in the vein of The Shins/Modest Mouse et al creating an experience rather than a live show... collectively ravishing.
The 'Arm continue their assault on conversations (sorry... we're bitter about this) everywhere throughout the rest of this month, culminating in a two-night extravaganza supporting ex-ska fools The Bravery. Catch 'em while they're hot.
