Super happy synth-pop, this is a pleasant little ditty; some quasi-aggressive kick drum and snare samples might ouch a little bit, but then this lovely twinkly, moving funky delightful melody comes in, and all’s good. Great, even.
There are spiky pieces of guitar intrusion with some distortion at one bridge, and a great breakdown into solo vocal layering female vocals that are just too pretty for words. It leads in to a drop back in to the effortless chorus, with more of those layers of harmonising synth tones. Charming, and yummy.
I look forward to hearing more from Citadels, but at the same time hope they find enough individuality in a market being flooded by female-led synth pop.
