Kong Snake Magnet (Brew)

Prologue: The quiet loner; the dedicated family man; the bored rhythm section. It’s always the ones you least expect.
Like A Clockwork Orange remade with labourers, Kong steam out of a Transit van sporting boiler suits and Hi-Vis jackets, Gibby Haynes masks glued-fast to their faces. The threat of violence and stink of paranoia clings to this Manchester three-piece, sweated out through the convulsions of their debut Snake Magnet.
Commanded with psychotic impulse, spasming Albini hold/release riffs clamour with bellicose (David) yowling, all under-pinned by rubber bullet blast-beats. When not wielding their Shellac and Jesus Lizard influences like scaffolding pipes, Kong use synths to gurgle and whirr in manic morse code, like The Locust drugged and locked in the basement.
The protagonists in this macabre set-to are listed simply as Krem, Magpie and Lulu. Outside the realm of Kongdom, two of the aforementioned trio are known as Steven Hodson and Mark Heron, bass and drums respectively for Oceansize. Yes, Oceansize. That fact alone might be enough to explain why the two could be driven to create something quite so unhinged.
Epilogue: I wake to find my fingernails missing, my gums fleshy and toothless. It's always the ones you least expect.
