You Me At Six - Kiss And Tell (Virgin)

3/5

By: Guss Mariot

Despite being a punk-pop act, You Me At Six actually write good songs. This latest single follows the same recipe for success as their previous efforts, even if the end product is a little different.

Featuring a slightly grittier guitar riff, and with vocalist Josh Franceschi letting his voice get more rough and rugged in places, ‘Kiss And Tell’ gives the impression of a band trying to break out of their stereotype, whilst the sing-along chorus will no doubt take care of their current fans.

It’s also refreshing to hear a song about girls that isn’t bitter, or written by a lonely heart, and one that presents a very cool, mildly cocky approach to the subject matter.  For even daring to try something new, You Me At Six deserve credit. For making it work, they deserve every bit of success it should bring them.
