Deckard - 'Dreams Of Dynamite & Divinity' (N/A)

And why the hell don't you know about this band? Their appearing claims to 'super-rock stardom' or even underground hyped rumblings... a track used amidst a sweaty, American, sloppy-Joe-afied 'Friends' episode, and supporting Powderfinger at the mighty, 'untouchable' Astoria all the way back in distant 2000.
OK, got the point. Not sounding so hot so far, no. Well, we're wrong for the scepticism. This is frightfully funky and fresh and juicy; it's addictive, infectious and everything that a bonny band from Scotland should be. Kilt-wavering, wobbling. Strawberry Chewit worthy (and you know they're the best ones...) pop-rock.
Geographically, it aligns, with murmurs echoing throughout of fellow Scots brutes Idlewild in their 'Ooohhh-eee-ohhh' days rather than 'Uhhh-raa-uhhh' shtick. You understand. Fair enough, they may not quite be an oil-painting, but their album artwork certainly is. A marvel my luvvies, a marvel.
Grimy groans about topics such as 'trans-sexuality', the 'love-hate dichotomy', 'your girlfriend's coma' all rap up nicely, like a lightly sweetened spring roll, while pensive piano interludes and jaunty strums compliment indie-harmonies to a perfectly battered, tattered T.
Their next step - a mysterious, floating Barfly date seems to be on the horizon. Well, we'll be there... shaking our tartan-wearing selves all the way into the melodic sunset.
