Lethal Bizzle Going Out Tonight (V2)
2/5
By: Charlie Hearn
After giving the first single from Lethal B’s most recent album the benefit of the doubt and settling on 4 out of 5 stars as opposed to the customary 3, I’m afraid I’m going to have to go the other way with this next one.
Samey rather than catchy, weak rather than quirky, usually Bizzle has an eye for taking something street and flipping it for the masses before anyone else has the chance to catch onto it. However, with number one mainstream competitor Dizzee Rascal already mastering the dance floor with hits like ‘Flex’ and ‘Dance Wiv Me’, as well as targeting the rave scene with Arman Van Helden hook up and UK number one ‘Bonkers’, it would seem out of character that east London’s finest would try and match him, but he has, or at least that’s what it feels like.
I’m afraid in this case Mr. Bizzle is two steps behind in game that requires you to be two steps ahead. You might turn it up if it comes on the radio when you’re sorting out your barnet prior to a Friday night on the tiles, but you’re hardly going to stick it on repeat.
