This track from the brilliant album Part II: The New December is a brilliantly ticking whir of stuttering beats and digitized melancholy - the ideal soundtrack to falling through the looking glass, if the looking glass were constructed of pixels and old SNES cartridges.
Centered around the self referential meta-line "first the words were good, they helped us understand the pain" (or something like that) that loops ad infinitum, twisting back and biting its own tale, inculcating you into the singer's own conundrum of senselessness as the words detach from their semiotic sense.
As introductions go, this is a fairly simplistic preface to the freewheeling inventiveness and intelligence of Fol Chen's hidden world, but it is one that should be leapt upon and devoured like a Chinese takeaway that still leaves you ravenously hungry for more of the salty-same.
