Cats and Cats and Cats - Sweet Drunk Everyone (Fiction)
3/5

Sometimes things should just be done on impulse because you like the sound of the name. For instance, I was in France last week and ate a whole block of cheese just because it was called "Fromage de Cunge" and I thought it looked like the supermarket was selling clunge-cheese. Cats and Cats and Cats were thusly a very inviting proposition, particularly as the clunge-cheese turned out to be delicious.
Though unlikely to win awards for originality or be invited as the support act for Throbbing Gristle on their comeback tour, they'll probably sign to Bella Union at some point, hook up with Ohbijou and make increasingly sweet, sweet songs with shaky, falsetto vocals till they drop the silly name and everyone loses interest.
Cats and Cats and Cats' ‘Sweet Drunk Everyone’ sits somewhere between the lo-fi of Arcade Fire's self titled EP and early Mew; though it has none of the restraint of the former, or the delicacy of the latter, it makes up for it in bursts of spiky Fender Jaguar guitar and ferocious hi-hats.
