Jamie xx is quickly becoming XL Records’ most prized asset. Seemingly not content with brilliantly remixing the likes of Florence and the Machine and a whole album’s worth of Gil Scott Heron, presumably only taking breaks to gaze over at the Mercury Award that proudly sits on the mantlepiece over at xx towers, Jamie’s at it again, this time remixing Adele’s already stunning (really!) ‘Rollling In The Deep’.
Handclaps, dubby basslines and marching band drums all complimenting Adele’s disarmingly honest vocal delivery to create what’s without a doubt going to go down as one of the best tracks this year. Just ten days in, I’m already sure of that.
