After what may well be the greatest marketing campaign of all time (in which they made a large proportion of the world’s population worry whether the world would end on 21stMay 2011) The Rapture have made their return with ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, their first release since 2008.
For those of you left disappointed by the no-show from the other Rapture, this track will almost definitely be enough to buoy your spirits, if not quite enough to elevate your souls to the sky to be with Jesus.
The track is based around a looping piano riff, reminiscent of Echoes track ‘Olio’, coupled with a menacing synth bass and one of the most melodic, soulful vocals Luke Jenner has ever produced. Gabriel Andruzzi’s trademark schizophrenic saxophone makes its appearance half way through, by which time the track has evolved into an unstoppable show-stopping anthem. Praise the Lord!
