CFCF – Cometrue (UNO)
3/5
By: Josh Daniel

This detached and shadowy lounge track from CFCF - one man disco machine and definite non-polluter Michael Silver - is an ode to 90s dance, filtered through the eye of a nostalgic (or forgetful) observer.
The keys are very Floating Points, that is to say CFCF is now beginning to integrate his multitude of influences into one seamless unit (almost as well as FP). The vocals are breathy, set somewhere above, yearning, but the chilled, crisp, percussive punctuation below offsets this with a simple, but still engaging hint of chillwave and a healthy dose of Balearic vibes.
The thing is, it could easily fit onto any Hotel Costes/Ministry of Sound Chillout Session album, which suggests this may not be unique enough, however much those classy, cascading keys keep returning. For now, this track is transforming this roadside office into a beach party atmosphere, and that's all I wanted anyway.
