Kieran Hebden has long been established as one of the finest electronica artists around, with his last album as Four Tet, There Is Love In You, officially ranking as Rockfeedback’s 11th best album of last year.
Ahead of his Fabriclive mix coming later in the year Mr Hebden has seen it fit to release this track, more reserved than anything from There Is Love In You, as a taste of what is to come. It serves as yet another example of his mastery of the art of seamlessly combining acoustic and electronic sounds to create organic dance music, a genre in which no one comes close to reaching the ‘untouchable’ status that Four Tet has achieved over the years.
The track itself is fairly inconsequential, probably not worthy of a place on any hypothetical full LP release in the future, but listening to it is a better way to spend 8 minutes of your life than what you’re probably doing right now. So do it.
