If you’ve ever read our website then you’ll know that sexism is rife within the Rockfeedback office*. We only need to hear the words ‘girl’ and ‘band’ within five words of each other to send us all spiralling into fits of outrage, a state which can only be remedied by putting our favourite chauvinistic music on the cd player and talking about our preferred types of meat.
You can imagine our shock, then, when the latest song by 100% woman pairing 2:54,‘Scarlet’, turned out to be kinda great. The slow-burning track sits among the best dust-bowl rock you‘ve heard, and would sound out of place on one of PJ Harvey’s earlier albums. Praise doesn’t come much higher.
