Republic Of Loose - 'This Is The Bomb Of Juice' (Big Cat)
1/5

Sometimes an album really does test the 'no cynics, please' mantra that rockfeedback so proudly attempts to maintain. Dublin's Republic of Loose and their 'This Is The Bomb Of The Juice' LP form very possibly the least palatable album we've heard all year.
This is beyond the call of contemporaries (though they have supported Fun Lovin' Criminals, whose faux-ghetto shtick appears the height of comedy and good taste in comparison to this garbage). Dragging on for 15 tracks and 61 long minutes, 'TITTOFJ' is a lazy, throwaway, plodding stoner-rock mishmash, devoid of any memorable tunes and bolstered solely by raps of the Fred Durst variety.
To boot, this Irish quintet's major selling-point appears to be that they swear a lot - there's really little else of note here. Well, lads: Goldie Lookin' Chain do that - and they're actually quite funny.
So the repeated use of the word 'Motherf****r' doesn't make Republic Of Loose sound like Prince; it's merely irritating. And there's further unpleasantness by way of tracks like 'Girl, I'm Gonna F**k You Up' and the inclusion of a gruesomely unfunny and unnecessary interview-segment called, charmingly, 'F**k Everybody'. So they won't care a jot about this review then.
