International Airport - 'Reunion Of Island Goose' (Geographic)
4/5
By: Tim Dellow
Flittering, fluttering winged Scottish nymphs collating scraps of paper scrawled with a list of holiday wishes. Eclectic magical etchings, sketches for my sweetheart sobriety.
A glorious lo-fi mess, soft lazy Caledonian vocals in the mood of the Beta Band with Stephen Malkmus on a July-time vacation. Apparently forged by a bunch of non-musicians fiddling with tin-whistle toys, naïve and beautiful, relaxed and languid, creating the freshest tunes this side of a maternity ward.
A ball of warm glowworms bunch themselves in that place between your lungs and your stomach (is that your heart?) as the slo-fi 'Association' welcomes you to its ranks. Mixed by John McEntire of Tortoise in Chicago, the windy city has only served to knock over a few wind-chimes, adding to the cacophony of almost sounds.
Loose and jazzy, but with an honesty inherent in non-musicians, let this soundtrack your summer romance. Summer daze drifting away...
