Caesars - '39 Minutes Of Bliss (In An Otherwise Meaningless World)' (Virgin)
4/5
By: Matt Tomiak

Groovy, baby.
After honing their knowing, hammond-soaked retro-pop across three albums in their native Sweden, Caesars now unleash twelve of their best tracks upon the Great British Public.
And very enjoyable it is too. Whether they're providing the perfect soundtrack to an evening spent in Austin Power's favourite haunt, the Electric Psychedelic Pussycat Swinger's Club in the form of 'Jerk It Out', or performing churning, Stones-esque rock ('Out Of My Hands'), Cesar Vidal and his three equally cool-named companions make music with a great big smile on its face.
The stand-out track, though, is 'Fun and Games': an old-fashioned indie anthem, replete with an instant sing-a-long chorus that Coldplay or Embrace would love to have penned. Shagadelic stuff, all told.
