It was possibly our stupidest idea yet - invite Future of the Left back to our house after a headline performance at the 2008 Camden Crawl and get them to play a set in our living room. What's more, we thought we'd put together a support bill consisting of Soko, Jeremy Warmsley and Shinghai Shoniwa of The Noisettes, meaning that the line up for our living room gig actually began to rival some of the stages at the actual Crawl itself. The floor nearly caved in, the police shut us down, the council gave us a massive fine... no regrets.

In 2009, Rockfeedback were invited to take part in documenting the work of London-based rock band (of sorts), Hyrst. An entire set was filmed live and in one take at Cholmeley Boys Club in Dalston, marking the first time the band had committed anything to record. The result is a piece that is as strange as it is serene – often both, concurrently.

The inaugural Concrete and Glass event featured performances from the likes of dirty-city pop act Micachu, a dark, heavily visual TV on the Radio gig, and an early, exciting performance from Little Boots. This sits alongside some of the most innovative and engaging displays of visual and sonic art, all in Shoreditch, East London, an area where the underside of the city meets the shiny, veneered, capitalised City. For our second ever trip out to SXSW we decided to push the already semi-submerged boat all the way out to sea, climb into it and dragged some very talented people along with us. The first part of our SXSW episode sees Jens Lekman talking candidly about the nature of lyrical storytelling, Seymour Stein spreading his wisdom, The Dodos playing a blinder, Lightspeed Champion and Fred Forse performing a cover of The Vines next to a bin, a man who can fold foil, and a guest appearance from an old friend. Oh, and a brilliant performance et interview with the the {sic} band of the then moment – Vampire Weekend.

Rockfeedback returns to the Underage Festival for the third year running, witnessing the likes of the Mystery Jets, Ladyhawke, the Horrors, Tinchy Stryder, Hadouken!, Good Shoes, The Whip, Rolo Tomassi, JME, Patrick Wolf and The Champman Family as they stir a bunch of tirelessly enthusiastic fourteen to eighteen year olds in to a veritable frenzy. London’s Field Day Festival really came in to its own in its third year, and though the grin-and-bear-it attitude to the torrential rain had a charming Englishness to it, the line up was thrillingly cosmopolitan. We capture live and interview the likes of Malian kora mastermind Toumani Diabate, Swedish sisters First Aid Kit performing an exclusive acoustic duet with Fanfarlo, some mental punk jazz courtesy of Norway’s The Thing, Final Fantasy from over the pond, and headliners Mogwai, who we’re surprised to learn Rockfeedback TV had a hand in booking.
