When we heard that prolific songwriter, producer and founding member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre Anton Newcombe was in town, we couldn't resist heading to his hotel for a chat - and quite a chat it was. In this, the first of a four part special, Anton muses on the U.S.'s medication culture, his youth in San Francisco, the effect of drugs on creativity, life, death, writing wills, sobriety, and the unsubtle beginnings of his band (which began with one of the most effective promotion campaigns this side of Radiohead's 'We Suck Young Blood').
