This single was a blasfemy to the indie youth culture. It was painful to listen to, not only was it a mainstream version of Turners solo debut as head of Last Shadow Puppets, it was also a cheap atempt to sell out in the states.The video was too vague and it didnt seem like much effort was put in its creation at all, whilst the Arctis Monkeys had been building up a very successfull portfolio of short clips that added to their -dont believe the hype- attitude.
Crying Lightning like the rest of the album is slow, empty both lyrics and sound wise and far from brilliant. The sheffield boys seem to have lost interest in their own music so how are we supposed to keep our interest in them?
Maybe the Arctis Monkeys did believe the hype afterall.
