The real joy in this album is listening to (and often times visualizing) the stunningly beautiful harmonic images these two people make together. Perhaps you lack the patience (or insight) to listen, and to truly comprehend what they have achieved. The material is not inaccessible, it seems to me you yourself do not posses the empathy to truly immerse yourself in their music.
You say that "this album is never going to reveal all of its secrets" but like any true form of art, the interpretation is left upon the beholder, and this allows us to create our own stories, and our own ideas and our own worlds.
